125th anniversary and milestone birthdays at BEGO

In addition to the 125th anniversary of the Bremen dental specialist, two more special birthdays were also celebrated at BEGO in April. Joachim Weiss, Partner and Member of the BEGO Advisory Board, inaugurated the festivities with a ceremony to mark his 90th birthday and his son Christoph Weiss, Managing Partner of the BEGO Group, also celebrated a milestone – his 50th birthday.

Precious metal and non-precious alloys, materials, devices, services, training courses and much more – BEGO’s conventional dentistry portfolio is extensive and offers dental laboratories reliable products and system solutions – and has been doing so for more than a century. “In 2015, we are celebrating our 125th anniversary and are very proud of BEGO’s growth into one of the world’s leading dental companies. This is largely down to my father, who was actively involved in the company for 63 years,” said Christoph Weiss, who is the fifth generation to stand at the helm of this Bremen-based medium-sized family company since 1997. Under his leadership, BEGO has become a pioneer in the field of digital dentistry and has now been offering CAD/CAM solutions successfully on the dental market for 15 years. Alongside the introduction of selective laser melting (SLM) for dental applications in 2001, the 3D print system Varseo developed by BEGO with dental laboratories for dental laboratories is one of the latest milestones in the company and the history of dentistry overall.

BEGO presented its harmonised portfolio comprising the in-house developed 3D printer Varseo, the associated scientifically tested materials, software tools and services at this year’s International Dental Show (IDS) in Cologne. In doing so, BEGO once again demonstrated its capacity for innovation, which was awarded the prestigious “TOP 100” quality seal in 2008 and recently confirmed with the INDUSTRIEPREIS 2015 “Best of 2015” seal.

However, it is not only in dental technology that BEGO has made a name for itself across the world over its company history dating back 125 years – dentists and implantologists also benefit from the dental specialist’s developments. BEGO Implant Systems, founded 25 years ago, recently developed the BEGO Semados® RS/RSX conical and self-tapping implant ranges. They complement the BEGO Semados® S, RI and Mini implant ranges and, together with the corresponding accessories, biomaterials and prosthetic components, are extremely popular.

BEGO will celebrate its 125th anniversary in June with an official ceremony in Bremen Town Hall.

Joachim and Christoph Weiss both have something to celebrate this year.
