Olympia 2010: BEGO is in the starting blocks
The dental health of the German Team for Vancouver is ensured: BEGO once again provides materials, know-how, and a dental practice for athletes at the event/ Year-over offer with dental vouchers for Olympians
Bremen, Germany December 14th 2009 – The Vancouver Olympic Games in 2010 are just around the corner and the athletes have been training intensely for the past months to be in top form for their competitions. The BEGO Dental Company from Bremen is also ready for their assignment: The official dental provider of the German National Olympic Team continues its commitment of 2002 and will be on call for the German Olympians in Vancouver from February 12th to 28th 2010.
As in previous years, there will be a BEGO dental practice within the German House on call free for Olympians before, during, or after their competitions. But even outside their competition times the athletes of the Olympic A and B Cadres can benefit from BEGO’s service, the only official dental provider and co-partner: They are provided with treatment vouchers which they can use any time at a dental office of their choice. BEGO provides all required alloys, materials, and implants free. There is also a new offer available: BEGO will carry 50% of the cost of the private portion of a restoration or maximum 500 Euro for all German Gold Medallists if needed.
On site as duty dentist in the BEGO practice for Olympians in Vancouver this time is Dr. Steffen G. Tschackert from Frankfurt and his team. Tschackert has, among other things, experience in handling professional athletes through his work with the German National under 21, under 20, and under 17 Football Teams.
What is the background to BEGO’s extraordinary assignment? “We see ourselves as representative of top German achievement. This is our connection with the German Olympians”, explains Christoph Weiss, director of BEGO. After all, our company is a synonym for high quality, made in Germany. Olympia stands for teamwork, fairness, and internationality – that fits perfectly with BEGO’s company culture, Weiss explains. “But the most important thing is that our Olympians and their attendants can rely on us for first-class, free-of-charge German-language dental care, just as they did eight years ago”, explains the BEGO head about the assignment at the Summer Olympic Games in London in 2012.
The offer is used widely and intensively by the athletes. Just how important BEGO’s assignment is, is proven by the prominent visitors to the practice. At the last Summer Olympic Games in Peking 2008, the BEGO practice was visited by top athletes such as Olympic gold medallist and eventing participant Hinrich Romeike, the fencing team’s Claudia Bokel, or the TV presenter Waldemar Hartmann.
Unforgettable remains the treatment of ice hockey star Jörg Mayr at the Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City after unluckily being struck by a puck and losing several teeth. Mayr's injuries were treated immediately by the BEGO team. His missing teeth were replaced with BEGO implants. As bad an accident may be for the athlete – they can concentrate on their competition safe in the knowledge that the comprehensive BEGO service is always available to them if need be.
