academia • dental II – fixed – Aesthetic Solutions on Implants  August 4th to 29th, 2008 Bremen, Germany

The intense course focuses on the creation of a sophisticated maxillary restorative case. The course instructor will explain in great detail the technical procedures and guide each student through a hands-on experience of fabricating of implant cases. The study models used during the course will reflect the full spectrum of prosthetic solutions. The model will require you to plan out and complete a full ceramic bridge. First the participant will be asked to prepare the BeCe zircon abutments using water-cooled turbines. In addition each student will scan, virtually design, and produce a CAD/CAM zircon framework which will be finished with layered ceramics. In restoring this anterior bridge both the tissue and tooth structures will need the upmost care to achieve satisfactory aesthetics. In the posterior area the advantages of over-pressing are reviewed. A long span bridge construction made out of precious alloy creates the base for a BeCe pressed ceramic restoration. In addition, the axial-divergent alignment of the implant abutments requires a challenging solution for the horizontal screw retained bridge. On the opposite the two molars will be used to demonstrate the difference between a cemented or screw retained crown restoration. The abutments are prepared in an optimal path of insertion and provide the basis for an aesthetic and functional veneering.
