The book relates the history of BEGO
After nearly 3 years of preparation the BEGO company chronicle, which spans the period from the beginnings of Bremer Goldschlägerei in 1890 to the year 2005, appeared punctually for Joachim Weiss’ 80th birthday. Today the birthday boy himself says that he never thought about how much work and how many hours he and his team put into this project. Thousands of photos had to be examined, old company documents looked for in the archive and numerous talks conducted, also with employees who had worked for the company for many years, in order to be able to put all the recollections in the right chronological order. Who was this man again, when was this photo taken, when did BEGO put that product on the market as an innovation …?
The preparatory research alone took over a year. Then came what was perhaps the most difficult part. Joachim Weiss did not want someone else, a socalled ghostwriter, to write his book. He put everything on paper himself, line by line, page by page.
The result is impressive. On 270 pages, divided into
10 chapters, with over 800 illustrations, the book relates
the history of BEGO. The central theme is the corporate
philosophy of "Partners in Progress" and Wilhelm
Herbst’s philosophy of life, "questioning the status
quo".
The BEGO company chronicle is an exciting journey in
time through an eventful history that promises many
hours of reading enjoyment.
