The Bremen-based company BEGO takes responsibility in the corona crisis and provides its many years of experience and its technical resources in 3D printing and CAD/CAM for the manufacture of utensils to prevent infection and the production of urgently needed parts in the medical area. "Especially in such a situation, it is very important to us to make a contribution to society and to use our know-how in order to offer targeted measures that are intended to help reduce the spread of the virus," explains Christoph Weiss, Managing Partner of the BEGO group of companies.
BEGO's anti-corona commitment essentially consists of three cornerstones:
- BEGO provides users of a BEGO Varseo S or Varseo L 3D printer with free design files for do-it-yourself 3D printing of useful utensils to prevent infection. These STL-files can be downloaded from the BEGO website. Customers can print for example modular frames for face shields or breathing mask brackets and can also bring in ideas for other useful parts.
- With the latest 3D printing and milling technologies as well as decades of expertise in the CAD/CAM and medical device sector, the high-tech production center of BEGO Medical in Bremen produces components that are urgently needed by hospitals and other medical facilities due to the corona pandemic – free of charge. Upon request, BEGO produces components using the SLM process (cobalt-chrome) or high-precision parts made of titanium, cobalt-chrome or PMMA in the milling process for manufacturers of medical devices.
- Additionally, BEGO Implant Systems manufactures 3D printed protective glasses, which are donated to the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Dentists and distributed by the latter to hospitals and medical practices in Bremen and the surrounding area.
These measures are a temporary extension of the BEGO activities and are offered in addition to the regular dental manufacturing services. Orders from BEGO customers are processed and delivered in the usual time and quality. The sales representatives, back office staff and hotline staff of all three BEGO business areas are still available to you by phone, e-mail and via other digital means of communication during known business hours.
