BEGO SLM 4.0: Significantly improved margin geometry with the SLM method

Crowns and bridges produced using the SLM method benefit from even thinner margins and thus improved margin geometry.

Wirobond® C+, a cobalt-chrome alloy from the Wirobond® series in a powder form, has been used for many years by BEGO Medical GmbH for selective laser melting (SLM). This method offers a wide range of indications for crowns and bridges together with excellent accuracy of fit of the metal frames to be finalised in the laboratory.

Since the launch of the SLM method at BEGO some 15 years ago, this technique and the indications have been continuously developed. The latest advances are improved material parameters for thinner crown and bridge margins. Thanks to optimisation of the marginal angle and thickness, valuable working time is saved since the finishing time in the laboratory is significantly reduced as a result of the improved margin geometry.

You can get the material parameters for Wirobond® C+ by performing a material update in the Control Panel of your 3Shape system. The BEGO User Support Team will be happy to assist you here.
